My guess is that it's because Japanese isn't always that appealing to worldwide audiences, and since humor is one of the main methods to keep the viewers entertained, they put in a lot of it I mostly think the Japanese is always superior, but I mostly stuck to the English dub of Digimon because it felt more action-packed and didn't have a woman in most voice roles (no to sound sexist). Of course, the sub has better dialogue and acting
