What about "The Last Airbender" and "After Earth"?

MrDunedon with Stallone, I thouht he was great in "Rocky" and "First Blood" (I haven't seen "Cop Land", but he at least received critical acclaim). But in the few comedies he has appeared in, he lacks the energy and comedic timing needed, and in many of his action movies, he looks and sounds bored and monotonous, and talks too slowly and relies too much of looking macho and cool. In "Rocky" and "First Blood", it at least looked like he tried, and they had quite dramatic situations. However, I blame the many of the bad movies themselves for his acting performances too since I don't always expect them to be good with any actor

Armageddon received mostly negative reviews and is one of Roger Ebert's most hated movies

Yngve Tundrali The only movie he has made that has been well-received is "The Rock". All of his other movies were either panned or received mixed reviews, and he has been very "popular" among the Razzies

"Number 23" was panned

dannbk13 "Signs" at least received mostly positive reviews

People also started to suddenly criticize Michael Cimino's "The Deer Hunter" after he made "Heaven's Gate". It seems like people often has a prejudice towards an actor or director or just instantly believe that they either suck or are great without actually evaluating them. For example, people love to hate Nicolas Cage and therefore assume he has never had a good acting performance even though he has received acclaim for "Leaving Las Vegas", "Adaptation", "Matchstick Men", and "Joe". People are like "Nah, he still sucks in those movies because he is Nic Cage" On the flip side, everybody thinks Leonardo DiCaprio is great in all of his movies because he is Leonardo DiCaprio even though some would disagree

Grease has been critically acclaimed though

That movie is one of Roger Ebert's most hated movies, and was nominated for several Razzies and "won" Worst Actor for Bruce Willis

+Michael Richardson A bad script can also ruin it a lot

Armageddon received mostly negative reviews though

"The Patriot" received slightly more positive reviews than "Independence Day"
1
AussieMan It initially received mixed reviews though. But it's definitely considered to be the best in the franchise now

+AussieMan Yes, and it's mostly because of those moralists back then; the critics that claimed if a movie has inappropriate content (violence, sex, profanity, bad moral etc.), it immediately loses its aesthetic/artistic values
