Apparently calling an Afro-American an oreo is just as bad as calling a white person a wigger

The teddy bears are wearing straitjackets, and a tag entitled "Commitment Papers" came with them. Mental health groups from all over the U.S. got really offended and asked them to be pulled out of production
3
It's "Sorcerer's" in the U.S, but not in most other countries (including UK)
2
Yes it is (except the U.S of course)
1
In the U.S*
1
I guess it's not politically correct to show a pretty girl representing an environment that's often associated with crime and violence
1
+Alexandra Luster There is an old legend about the philosopher's stone that stretches back to c. 300 AD, even though some people claim its history goes back to Adam
1
Think dirty and your first association with something that's white and gooey
1
Never mind. If you don't know, you're too young
1
+AnnaStones I think the bigger controversy was that homeless girls who lives in a car is often associated with child prostitutes
1
I hope it was some kind of joke that you insisted that "Philosopher's Stone" is not the original title, which it is
1
What about it?
1
Only in the U.S.
1
How is that Pole Dancer doll even considered to be a kids toy? Kids are not even shown playing with it in those clips you've chosen
1
Only if you are an ignorant American
1
English, please
1
Because it sounds like he's chanting "Up his arse"
1
It's the title that's being used everywhere except in the U.S
1
+Tony Walker That's why the clip was shown and the man is so shocked
1
Yes. Congratulations, you have just discovered the the UK title of a British film/book, whose title unfortunately got changed in the U.S for some stupid reason
1
Really, Americans? Would it hurt so much to actually know something about the rest of the world? Seriously, it's the title that's being used everywhere except in the U.S.
1
Because it wears a straitjacket, and it was considered offensive to mental hospitals
1
Original title of both the book and the movie. It got changed in the U.S. for some stupid reason
1
Why does this always happen whenever they use a movie clip from that film? It takes away the entire focus on the actual subject. I've known for a long time that its original title is "Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone", but that it got changed in the U.S.
1
Did you really call a gollywog doll a teddy bear?
1
Yeah, but action figures tend to be fitting for all ages, even when the source material is inappropriate for children. The problem with the Punisher action figure is that the pistol looked like an erected penis
1
The decapitated woman's head that comes with it
1
@shroomkittie When it's sold as toys to play with, then you're taking it away from its original context and over to something commercial and meant to be viewed as enjoyable
1
Intention doesn't matter if people interpret things differently. Just because my intention of saying "Your singing is awful" is to motivate the person to improve doesn't mean it can't come off as hurtful and mean-spirited
1
I wouldn't say that to motivate someone lol Exactly my point. I have a different intention with something than what you perceive and interpret. The teddy bears also have a different intention than the way they get interpreted and perceived by other people
1
@markalexander3659 You may see this toy as harmless. Others may see it as offensive
1
What do you define as "foreign countries"? Because to me and this channel, USA is a foreign country
1
+albeto gonzalez The WWF toy? People got offended because of the decapitated woman
1
The decapitated woman's head that comes with it

Philosopher's Stone is the British title, and "philosopher" in Flamel's time was related to alchemy and the stone was said to not only be the source of immortality and alchemy itself, but also perfection, enlightenment, and heavenly bliss. Of course American children won't find that exciting because "Fuck, non-American culture" and the American publishers renamed it to the generic "Sorcerer's Stone", which has nothing to do with the original myth and is completely made-up. But it didn't stop there! When the film "Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit was released", a line was changed from "marrow" to "melon" because "Fuck expanding one's vocabulary"
