TheRhinehart86 Well, United States is one country that consists of states, while United Kingdom is a country/sovereign state that consists of smaller countries, and the accent of each country is very different from another. However, even though someone from Oxford sounds different than someone from Liverpool, they're still English accents, just like the accent of New York and Texas are both American accents. But you don't say that a Scot or Englishman speaks with a British accent, because Scotland and England are two different countries that are part of the same sovereign state. And no, I'm not from UK
