That would be most movie theatres in America. A white drive in cinema would be racist because it would imply that white-produced movies aren’t being seen, but they are.

bittercottoncandy Where is the proof that white Americans don’t discriminate? They have in the past with Jim Crow. Where is the proof that minorities will be racist?

The BadderMan the Internet is proof that white racism is over? How? And how are African nations related with black Americans? African and African American are not similar.

Paul McG where is the proof that a shadowy group is behind anti-racism?

The BadderMan African Americans aren’t African anymore than a white American is French, or Hungarian, or Ukrainian. There is no reason to believe that the two are comparable

Richard R The color of one’s skin, for better or worse, affects one’s upbringing and personal experience. Similar to consultants, a movie about blacks being discriminated against, like Boyz n the Hood benefits most from black perspectives. Anyone could’ve made that movie regardless of race, but by virtue of being black, you’re more likely to know what discrimination actually feels like, and therefore you’re better suited to make that movie.

Anonymous _ It depends on personal experience and skills. But just like white French men are typically less equipped to write about growing up in Communist China than a Chinese farmer, white filmmakers are generally less able to create movies about being black in America.

Anonymous _ If you keep inventing fantasyland ideas you can find exceptions everywhere you look. But generally, if the topic is racial justice, profiling, or other aspects that tend to only affect POC, then a writer who is a POC is best suited to write about that, all else equal. That is what the black drive in promotes. Stories produced from people who are best able to offer that perspective on being POC in the US.
