It was not an unarmed civilian ship. Their actions towards Israel was very hostile. They refused to submit to Israeli controls, showed hostility, and thus Israeli naval forces attempted to board and search the ship, which is typical when a vessel approaches a country’s borders with hostile intentions. Then, they attacked Israelis with water cannons. You don’t do that and get away. That is violence against military personnel. And it shows their mission was not in good faith.

@Nick-di9dv why should we care about Gazans and their store fronts. After everything they did I don’t think it matters that their goods get looted or smashed.

@bugsygoo Israel is not apartheid, the only place where Israelis and Palestinians are “separate” is in the occupied West Bank, Area C. Only a couple hundred thousand Palestinians live there under occupation, justified due to decades of terrorism from there. Israeli citizens are all under a secular democracy

@keatonwastaken there were many times when Israel wanted to end the violence, like when it de-occupied Gaza back in 2006. We see how the Palestinians thanked Israel for that.

@piersellis69 most Palestinians are Hamas supporters. Most supported October 7th, most supported past wars and Intifadas against Israel, they are not rational or good. They are like North Koreans.

@ToothbrushMan as Ryan here said, countries don’t wait for you to cross into national waters, they take action proactively to keep the country safe. Israel was justified because it was clear they were bound for Gaza Strip, which is under Israeli military control, the blockade.

@bugsygoo that is not true, the IDF does not persecute Palestinians for who they are. It is indeed, because of what they’ve done. And they’ve done a lot to justify Israel’s wrath. The First and Second Intifadas, the many wars of aggression, the countless rocket attacks and other attacks on civilians, I’m sure lots of Israelis have lost their sympathies for Palestinians and their shops in Gaza
