California is the wealthiest state in the US. It has a high median income and good governance. I’m curious what state you live in, if you think California is doing bad?
5
@Scooby-Jew81 lol they’re entitled because they want money? Aren’t you and I entitled then?
4
Firms are price takers, not price makers. Fast food doesn’t choose the price of their food, they set at what the market will bear. And wages of workers have no direct impact on demand for food. So no, prices will not necessarily be affected, economics are complex but the oft-reported mantra “wages go up, so do prices” is not always true.
4
@pizzacrusher4632 the free market values California real estate more highly than your state’s, it is “affordable” because demand to live there is low. It’s a lower quality state. California is expensive because people like to live there and there’s not enough supply for high demand. That’s proof that California is well run.
3
If the job offers more money, then the job will be more competitive, attracting better quality people. And making the people already there happier, more centered, better workers
3
It’s people who think their life is always in danger, yet aren’t acting aggressive, that are the most dangerous
3
Why do you believe that raising the wages means prices will go up. Why would a company wait to raise prices? If they could’ve charged more money for food they would’ve done so already, thhe wouldn’t wait for wages to rise.
3
With a BS in chemistry or any STEM degree you should not be making $20/hr unless maybe it’s your first job.
2
@CaliPatriot88 that’s your fault for being poor and not having the income needed to live in a desirable location. California is a desirable place that you can’t afford. That doesn’t mean the state is doing badly
2
@pizzacrusher4632 just saying, you should not be proud of your state being poor and in low demand. It’s affordable because nobody wants to live there. Likewise California is expensive because people want to live there, it’s in high demand, evidence that it’s well run. Please curb your criticism, or even better, acknowledge the success that the liberals have built, in California and elsewhere left leaning in the US.
2
If companies could automate to save money they would’ve done so already, they would not wait for a modest wage increase. Secondly, robots and AI are not viable yet, if at all. They are expensive, they break, they can’t handle even a little complex instruction, they must be serviced by expensive engineers and technicians, what’s more likely is we’ll see a reduction in the workforce for fast food workers, or we’ll see the process be streamlined to eliminate workers, if possible.
2
Economics is a pretty complicated field of study, requiring doctorate degrees and understanding of advanced demographics and mathematics to truly become a master of the field. With that said, do you have any proof that if minimum wage increases, so do prices? If fast food companies want to charge more for their food, why would they wait for wages to increase?
2
@HiddenAgendas no, price does not have to go up if costs increase. Think about it, if companies could raise their prices in response to workers getting more money, then why wouldn’t they have just raised their prices in the first place? Your line of thinking is not based on any truth.
2
@episodebeats2817 permits and licenses do not violate the 2nd Amendment. Not at this time at least. No telling what the Supreme Court might rule on next

Hmm…maybe the liberals were right that the police need to be defunded or reformed in some way? This career just attracts the wrong people
1
Statistically you are more likely to die in the U.S. vs every other western nation. US also has the most lax gun laws. Curious isn’t it?
1
The U.S. does have the highest rate of both murder and gun-murder in the Developed World, and the most lax gun laws. So it does statistically mean that the U.S. is the most dangerous developed nation.
1
Legal use of self defense. Illegal carrying of a weapon. To jail
1
Please explain how wages increasing will lead to prices increasing? If firms wanted to raise prices they wouldn’t wait for wages to increase, they would already do so. Likewise, do you think the inverse is true, if wages decrease then so will food prices? How so?
1
@jasonkoroma4323 do you have proof that rising wages for fast food workers will cause inflation?
1
@HiddenAgendas what? What happened?
1
These are the middle class lol. Who else are they?
1
@ChrisWalker-wy7fy don’t own a gun you are dangerous. Guns are for small pp men and right wing women with a fetish for self-oppression
1
@gofastER looks like the Democrats were right to say the police should be reformed or defunded
1
@vincentramirez8188 Google does have free/cheap certifications, but you can’t really get a job with just that, a bachelor’s degree is needed for mobility and good starting job. In fact I’d be surprised if those certs can get you a job paying more than these fast food workers.
1
@rahh3602 why does it matter? What do you have against workers making more money?
1
@vincentramirez8188 Google certifications are great, but alone they won’t lead to a job. CompTIA certifications can lead to a job, but these require some pretty dedicated studying and/or prior knowledge, not much different than college.
1
@heatherronan do you have proof and economic reasoning which proves that wages increasing will lead to prices for goods also increasing?
1
@gcam7103 firms are price takers, not price makers. Fast food restaurants do not pick the price of the food, they set it at where the market will bear. Fixed costs of labor do not affect demand for food.
1
@ffs6158 if you want to sell food, you sell it at the highest price that you are able to. Input costs do not affect this price, it is determined by consumer demand. Economics are complicated but this is largely true.
1
@AmericanBacon. can you explain with proof and evidence that cost of labor affects prices? If that were true, and companies could raise prices whenever they wished, why would they wait for employees to demand higher wages before raising prices?
