Jonathan López I don't see the FARC as a noble group, I see it as gang powered either by greed or megalomania. Either way, I don't think any of the violence is excusable. If they have or had grievances, they should've resolved them however, regardless of how difficult that may be. Innocent people should not die for their agendas.
Maybe the footsoldiers deserve some sort of amnesty, but what about the leaders, who willingly approved of murdering innocent people? I think they deserve to be punished in some way, and a precedence must be set for insurgents that attacking civilians, police, or military is illegal and immoral. A peace treaty elevates the FARC and other groups to a level playing field. Instead of terrorists, they become legitimized for all to see. That proves that Colombia is weak, and that the terrorists are strong, and that the terrorists can murder and pilfer their way to a better negotiation. That's not something a lawful country should encourage.

dup Race and culture are mere social constructs, they are arbitrary, artificial, and non-binding. Anyways this is also not about cultural or any cultural differences. Firstly, because this stuff like universal healthcare, tough gun laws, etc, is present in almost every other Western country, from Japan to Canada. Japan and Canada are definitely not culturally homogeneous, and yet the same policies work and work well. Therefore, even if the US has a different culture than whoever, this does not necessarily mean that these "lefty" policies will not work in the US.

DucksDeLucks How Israel came about doesn't affect what's occurring in the modern age. Now, Israel is a strong democracy with strong human rights, it deserves to exist and Israelis have good reasons to defend its existence, and its prosperity. Palestinians have no good reason to fight for Palestine, because Palestine is a corrupt regime that does not care about them. They only support Palestine because of nationalism, or because they are apart of the crooked elite who seek to maintain the status quo. The average Palestinian should be begging to be annexed by Israel, not fighting it, because then they will be citizens of a democracy. There's no way this will happen though, too many Palestinians are violent and sympathetic towards terrorism. If they had never started wars against Israel and the West, then there would be no conflict in the first place. And if Palestinians would turn their anger towards their own corrupt leaders, their lives would improve significantly, because it is the corrupt regime in Palestine that has the most influence over Palestinians, not Israel.
It is a fact that non-Jewish Israelis have all the same rights. You can go read NGO reports like the Democracy Index or the Human Development Index if you want. Check out where Israel is, and check out where Palestine is. Israel ranks among Western European countries, it could not be possible there was apartheid or second-class citizenship. Note that these NGOs are renowned by colleges, they are considered scholastic and are credible.

@billjamal4764 false, there is usually financial aid offered, including housing assistance for students in college. Or, the student loans you take can cover housing in dorms, etc. If you feel thrusting someone with a poor upbringing into a four year school is a recipe for failure, which I think is a reasonable thought, there are community colleges offering 2 year, associate degrees. Tuition is cheap, less than 5k USD a year for in-state residents, so less than 10k total. As well, government at local, state, and federal levels tend to offer housing assistance to students enrolled in college, including community college. A homeless person can get a 2 year associate’s in STEM, and become a technician or a lab tech, and make at bare minimum, $15/hr, more likely around $20/hr starting. At least, that’s based on my experience living in Eastern Massachusetts, where wages are relatively high, and there are lots of technical and biotech jobs available.

@delighteddino9363 it is easy to go to college, but people are foolish and they lack foresight, maturity, or guidance in their youth from parents, teachers, etc. You can start by Googling colleges that fit your criteria (low tuition, majors offered, amenities offered like room and board, distance from your residence, etc. Then call the schools you’ve selected and make
your position clear, that you want to attend college, need financial aid, etc. They deal with these questions and will help you. Then you enroll, and graduate with a useful degree.
