I grew up in Massachusetts, where people are smarter and where our government is solidly Democrat except in the rural areas, where it seems you were from.   6. Mr. Turkey the only war I think the US retreated from was Vietnam, and that was in spite of winning every or almost every battle and decimating VC and NVA. Unlike the US, North Vietnam didn’t care about how many bodies they had to throw away. The US did, and it was deemed too high.

  8. Ashley Smith I like your joke lol. But I’ve got something to type. Vietnam War was a defensive war because China and the Soviet Union threatened the sovereignty of South Vietnam. The Soviet Union started the Korean War and stole half of Europe after WWII. China and the Soviet Union sponsored communist insurgencies in the Philippines and Malaysia, Western allies. There’s no reason to believe that South Vietnam was safe from communist aggression, so the US intervened and “started” the Vietnam War via the Gulf of Tonkin incident. When I peeled back the layers Vietnam War seems like a defensive war to me. Korean War was defensive because the North invaded the South, that’s the undisputed history. War in Afghanistan was a defensive war because of 9/11 and other global terrorist acts committed by Al-Qaeda, who the Taliban were harboring. Iraq War was a defensive war because Saddam Hussein was tyrannical and oppressing ethnic minorities like Kurds and Marsh Arabs. It was American Interventionism.
