  22. ***** With more money in the average man's pocket, he'll spend that money, which means that more business will sell more things and services, which means more profits, which means workers can get paid more, etc.  More money also means many other things, like going to a better college, or just being happier and more stable.  It's not the whole nation that will get a raise either.  The richest will lose (hence the saying 'narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor',), but only a little, and they're rich and a minority anyways, so catering to them isn't as morally important.  Get an education before calling me names.

  28. It's hardly a stretch at all, Australia's minumem wage is $16.88 USD and Mcdonald's operations in Australia are sound.  It's as if people are too stupid to see the truth right in front of them.

  29. elvaledecolima I don't see how Australia and the US are different in this case, it's a matter of the same multinational corporations paying its employees in one nation this many, and then paying its employees in another nation less.  There is big and small business in Australia too, so what is the excuse here?  Raising the minimum wage is perfectly appropriate.

  30. ***** So it's the low minimum wage that makes America a superpower?  I don't think that's true.  A low minimum wage hurts everyone, including the government (less taxes and more social stratification which equals a weaker country),  it only helps the very wealthy on the top, like the notorious 1%.  With more money in more Americans' pockets, they will spend that money, and buy more things.  All in all, it's economically sensible.  Raising the minimum wage will barely hurt corporations anyways.  There are corporations in Australia that are doing just fine that are testament to that, even corporations that are also based in the US, like McDonalds.

  31. ***** They can be at the bottom, but that doesn't mean they have to be poor, that's the whole idea between narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor.  Basically, a few people who are rich will make a little less money, but they'll still be comfortably wealthy anyways.  Meanwhile, the poorest people who are being paid minimum wage, will have the money needed to live happier, more productive lives.  It will also allow them engage in social mobility.

  32. ***** What is this about?  Is this about the poor deserving to be poor?  Or is this about sound economic sense?  The two points are separate.  (I would argue anyways that people don't choose to remain at minimum wage, they will eventually invest in themselves and achieve more fulfilling careers)  So what if poor people choose to be poor, and raising the minimum wage is nothing more than a handout?  Fact is it's good for the economy.  More money in more people's pockets means more transactions, which means more business, and for businesses, more business means more profit.  However much money an very rich CEO can spend, it's not as potent as more evenly spreading out the wealth, or in other words, narrowing the gap between the rich and poor.

  34. ***** That is a good, complex question, but the simple answer is that it shouldn't be stagnant, and it shouldn't be so low as it is.  Maybe it should adjust automatically.  All I know for certain is, it should be higher, at least at $10 an hour. I'd be happy if it were $15.

Israel cannot be expected to give these hostile and brainwashed people full citizenship, they would use their newfound voting powers to vote for something stupid, like to dismantle Israel's democracy or to persecute Jews/Zionists.

  46. john smith Israel won those lands after winning multiple wars against hostile neighbors, before that Palestine was not a thing, the land called the West Bank was apart of Jordan, and Gaza was Israeli land. Israel voluntarily gave Gaza independence. Israel was repaid with rocket attacks, and other terrorist activities. Land deals aren’t proven effective, Israel cannot trust Abbas or Hamas to act in good faith. So it’s better for Israel to weaken Palestine as much as possible, to the point where their governments fail.
