@fpvwithme it’s literally on the books in the UK, Australia, etc. There are criteria for guns
2
@openmind2546 well, European and Asian nations have figured out intuitive definitions and have banned these guns. I think also “semiautomatic or automatic rifle at or above thresholds for range, fire rate, and muzzle velocity, ammo-capacity, etc” are concrete categories to define and ban
2
@ttestates1 other nations like the UK and Japan have defined terms like assault weapon, semiautomatic and automatic rifle, etc, I think we should copy them
2
@In0god0we0trust all other Developed nations have tougher gun laws than the US, and lower rates of annual murder and gun-murder. Year after year it’s proven true in dozens of nations that banning guns works
2
@Stand Strong he can define it obviously, he’s a smart and successful man, more than you ever will be. He’s just saying that his personal opinions are not related to this hearing
2
@fpvwithme you are uneducated, Assault weapons are successfully banned in other Western nations and were banned temporarily in the US too.
1
@lawsonransom8318 it’s not fake, assault weapon is codified in other nations and is codified in the US, remember how in the 90s when assault weapons were banned temporarily
1
He refused to answer personal opinion based questions that have no place in a hearing. Also the government has defined assault weapon several times, there was even a ten year ban on assault weapons after Columbine
1
@the_i.t_guy1134 actually, since the US has the highest murder and gun-murder rates of any developed nation, and the most lax gun laws, it is proof year after year that if you ban guns, less people die.
1
Juden Shekelberger you are uneducated
1
@the_i.t_guy1134 among DEVELOPED nations the US does indeed have the most murders and the most gun murders, as well as the most lax gun laws.
1
Juden Shekelberger the liberal truth offends you
1
Juden Shekelberger makes no sense. Year after year the US has the highest rates of gun-murder, murder in general, and the most lax gun laws, of any developed nation. This means that each year there are dozens of developed nations, all of them in fact, are proof that gun control works well at reducing murder
1
Congress has banned assault weapons in the past, such as a ten year ban after Columbine, which expired. So it is defined
1
@Stand Strong you really think that a man as accomplished as him couldn’t be able to define a rifle if he had to?
1
@Stand Strong he refused to, and offered multiple definitions that the senator refused to accept. Assault weapons were also defined and banned for 10 years by Senate Democrats in the 90s. So it is indeed possible to ban and define assault weapons, despite conservatives arguing that the effort is futile
1
@Stand Strong assault weapons were banned by the US in the 90s. And in other Western nations they are banned, so obviously it IS possible to define and ban assault weapons, and the effort is not hysteria as you imply.
1
@Stand Strong you are irrelevant and your opinions are also irrelevant. It is proven that gun control saves lives
1
@maxwhite3981 that has not been proven, show it
