  2.  @asherdie  just to clarify, the point of Lomi is that if you live in an apartment like an educated liberal city dweller, you don’t have access to a green bin or compost bin, and if you use Lomi, you get eco friendly waste that is not smelly or gross, which makes it easier to store if you want to make a weekly run to the compost/collection, or you can possibly dump it in the woods with minimal waste.

  6.  @Skylancer727  whether or not it’s dirt doesn’t matter. It turns food waste into something that’s dry, not smelly, and easy to store for composting later. That’s useful for people who want to compost but don’t want or can’t use a pit in a yard.

  8.  @Skylancer727  you are wrong. The appeal of composting is not necessarily to get soil for gardening, it is often to be more eco friendly. What masticators allow you to do, is to dry out food waste into something more manageable than raw trash, and then compost it later. You ask “why not use the oven”, the answer is because that too requires electricity anyways, and it requires using tools like pans or trays, and it doesn’t masticate the food waste it just dries them out. So the Lomi is better. You also say “use a compost bin on your balcony”, but that’s not always possible because not all apartments or condos have balconies, and even if they had space it would be smelly and messy, so Lomi has advantages there. The best use of Lomi would be someone who wants to dry out food waste, collect it over time, and then drive it to say a municipal composting site.

But some places do offer compost collection, this is a less smelly and less wet way to participate in composting. That’s the appeal. Not everyone who’s interested in buying one is gullible and you aren’t as as smart as you think. I make more money than you most likely
