@KNRS927 doesn’t help that the Chevy Bolt is a bad car from a bad company
1
@linusa2996 your gas car is a luxury. Your convenience of gas is not worth destroying the Earth.
1
@TEverettReynolds you can charge them at public charging stations, just like people with gas cars don’t refuel at home. Owning an EV in the city without home charging is easy. It’s a bit uncomfortable but small comfort is a necessary sacrifice to save the planet and save yourself money
1
@wuerzelburg I see. I thought you meant 800 dollars. My mistake. Kinda your mistake too though.
1
@thefpvlife7785 poor
1
I am sure the experts who actually make policy have considered that already and found it to be workable. Your concerns are not withstanding
1
Renting always makes sense if you’re poor
1
@kathleennorton6108 you are living in a right wing fantasy, BBC World News wrote an article which squarely states that ISPs are deregulated in the US, more expensive and slower in the US, and all thanks to deregulation. It’s not debatable, but right wingers like you will debate it to protect their fragile identities
1
Jared Oaks how does it feel to be unloved by your parents?
1
@@wqsuuhhdrvjjthe US is the good guy and China is the bad guy. Democracy vs evil dangerous regime.
1
@timtam9673 the US needs gun control then. And perhaps there should be requirements in the mean time that one have a clean criminal history and steady employment, to weed out violence
1
@skyak4493 you are making stuff up
1
@burgerman101 apartment buildings are not always hideous, most people in cities live in apartments or condos. Or what about Vienna, Austria, where 60% of residents live in government housing for all? Is that hideous? All I’m suggesting is that if the government encouraged cities and towns to build more of those developments, with more compact and non-luxury units, then price for real estate and rents will fall to less-than ridiculous levels.
1
@burgerman101 the solution may have been to build building somewhere else. And if you believe in conserving nature, then you should be in favor of apartment/condo buildings, since they require less space to house more people than single family homes. Perhaps your house is the problem and the building is the solution?
1
@ZXR636rr 400 USD for a townhouse is not a steal (usually, depends where in the US it is, but it is usually high). Toronto is just bonkers and in a league of its own.
1
@CandaceNDiaye I agree, I think the government should somehow incentivize/compel developers to make lots of small, affordable units for rent/sale, rather than luxury apartments or suburban sprawl.
1
Amanda W by taking out student loans, living with your parents/roommates, and being frugal.
1
vampansy81 go to school
1
vampansy81 then you will probably stay poor
1
Hugo Nobre once you go to college and get educated, you get a job and pay off your student debt.
1
RaFari1119 Bee where is the evidence that the Middle Class is dying? More likely the Middle Class is uneducated and lacks the needed skills to get hired.
1
RaFari1119 Bee people make do. Computer scientists make 90k out of college with a bachelor’s. If saving is difficult you can make cuts by living with parents or roommates. Buying cheap food, depositing money, and tracking purchases helps grow savings, then you can calculate how long it’ll take to save up and buy house. You could also move to where housing is cheap and where jobs are needed.
1
Ean E when I graduate college, I’m going to keep living with my parents. Without rent to worry about, I can sock away most of my salary. Within ten years tops I’ll have amassed a few hundred grand.
1
@atomicstyle7344 well, you can go to a state school and pay relatively low tuition and earn a degree in STEM, which pays a lot. Engineering and Computer Science majors can earn starting salaries of 90k a year.
1
XqWertZ Y fewer people would die if we did
1
Can you explain in small words what’s wrong with CA’s zoning laws?
1
Look it’s Jeff Bozo’s alt account
1
Lobbying is the only way things get done. Greenpeace lobbies for noble causes. Lobbying works well.
1
asianpower3000 lobbying isn’t bad. Lobbying is why we have any laws at all.
1
asianpower3000 not true. You can donate to any advocacy group you like and help the contribute to the cause. Lobbying is why we have environmental laws and other noble issues.
1
asianpower3000 I don’t know what to tell you. Lobbying is what gets stuff done. As in the rest of life, money (for campaigning only, not bribery) is what motivates Congressmen to legislate. That’s the way it is.
1
asianpower3000 it’s not bribery. Bribery is illegal and lobbying is legal. Bribery is if the Congressmen get money directly. Lobbying only covers their campaigning cost. The law knows the difference
1
asianpower3000 well the nation disagrees with you. And I do too. And you will never change it. So...have fun being wrong lol
1
Michel Mansour lol
1
@Skyberg21 what about buying?
1
@johnathin0061892 why would you vote third party when you can vote Democrat?
1
Do you have evidence?
1
@davidhidalgo8465 proof
1
@useridcn it should be easier to immigrate. It’s unfair and oppressive that migrants can’t settle here. It is also self mutilating, the US turning away educated migrants hurts the US. We should be trading away our homeless, our rural poor, etc for the immigrants, yet we coddle the former due to conservative identity politics. We should just call them the low value that they are.
1
That’s irrelevant. Unions are a way for workers to get more money from their bosses. What’s wrong with that?
1
@gbenay proof?
1
@pabloescobar4452 the US and the Free World does not invade innocent nations, it invades bad guys like dictatorships who deserve it, then selflessly pours in billions of USD to rebuild, something no other conquerer has ever done to its former enemies, an extreme act of kindness. Russia is starting cruel wars of aggression, and regularly targets civilians. Not justified nor comparable to the US’s wars.
1
@bubbles201990 because China is an imperialistic regime that threatens democracy rather than builds it, that allies with regimes rather than tears them down or isolates them, which treats its own citizens poorly and therefore has no indications of treating the rest of the world any better.
1
Any proof for that statement? Why shouldn’t everyone get educated?
1
Helping out the Chinese regime is not a good thing
1
@stockdale829 Russia is not threatened by Ukraine joining NATO, that is a lie. NATO is not a threat to non-NATO members, for decades outside nations like Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, etc were surrounded by NATO and there were no problems. Russia therefore is lying, to obfuscate and whitewash its true reasons for invading Ukraine; to satisfy the corrupt agenda of Putin and his cronies, no matter how average Russian is affected.
