  1. Adding a non reciprocating charging handle and dust cover wouldn't be that difficult nor with a dust cover over the injection port to be difficult. With the above dust covers and rechambered to .30 carbine and ignoring the locked breach requirment it might have made a reasonable good M-1 carbine entry.
