Ukraine fighting a proxy war for the US and Western powers. -- The politics and the war itself generally benefit the very elite special interests that rule and dominate our world. -- The Russians and Ukrainians are Slovak cousins with shared Christian Orthodox culture, Ukraine was part of the USSR from 1922 to 1991, Eastern Ukraine has a significant number of ethnic Russians in areas like Crimea and the Donbas. I understand Putin's point of view to take all of Ukraine over, it makes sense for Russia to do that.
