  3. Both the UK and the US created innovations that were incorporated into the development of the aircraft carries. For instance after WW2 the UK created and angled flight deck, the "meat ball" landing system and steam-powered catapult and the US adopted all of these systems. It's my guess the a big reason US used the wooden decks to expedite carrier construction to fill the need immediate need for carries.

  6. Smoking was a huge part of our culture especially in the military."Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em"! My father was in the US Navy in WW2 and Korea and cigarettes were cheap or free. Most of them smoked.

From these two statements we can reason that wars are planned, that economic, political and religious institutions are controlled by powerful forces that control the world and lead men into war like dumb sheep to slaughter and be slaughtered. The bible has always said the world is controlled by the Devil, in Luke 4:9, the Devil offered Jesus the kingdoms of this world, if Jesus would bow down and worship him. Jesus doesn't dispute the Devil's offer, but said “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve”. Jesus didn't listen to the Devil and we shouldn't either, it's time to stop listening to mainstream media, it's misinformation and lies and think for ourselves. Who really is behind the politics, economics, and religions that control the world?

  18. An amazing history of about the HMS Victory that is a giant war machine and the most sophisticated technological man made object in it's day. So much was considered when designing her, she had to accommodate a large crew with their provisions for months at a time, she had to be fast, sea worthy in all weather conditions, and she had to be able to fight battles and be an effective war machine. She was a remarkable achievement, very English and very British. Great video, thank you.

  20. I think Geoffrey Pyke was a genius thinking way outside the proverbial box. Lord Mountbatten shooting the pykrete and ricocheted grazing Fleet Admiral King's leg, the Anglophobe, that's funny. This whole story sounds crazy, but true stories are often like that. Love this video, it's too bad we never got see HMS Habakkuk built.

  26. Why did captain Langsdorff suicide him self? Why did Hitler tell general Paulus at Stalingrad to suicide himself? I think the NAZI military had a religious cult mind set. Adolf Hitler and his cabinet were all Catholic, Hitler said of Heinrich Himmler that he was his Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. Himmler modeled the Waffen-SS after the Jesuit Order. This is not Christian and has nothing to do with the Bible. We still have the same kind of people running the world today, especially here in the US.

What if the Hood wasn't hit by a lucky shot and had been renovated to more modern standards, that's an interesting scenario. -- Hood was a big beautiful ship, with big 15" guns, long lines and it was fast. IMHO she was well worthy of modernization. -- But it was not in cards for the mighty Hood and her crew, R.I.P. Great video

  34. Brunel was amazing, as the Great Eastern was too. In hindsight it was a financial disaster, but how else could they have laid the trans-Atlantic cables without the Great Eastern? Brunel died way too young, only 53 y.o. Imagine if he had lived another 30 years what he could have done! What a wonderful mind! -- I've nerve been to the Paddington Train Station, but I've seen the pictures of it and it looks fantastic.

Using a Earth Curve Calculator, ~ The Distance to the horizon is 11.617208 miles. ~ The bulge of the earth should hide the target by 102.2530 feet. Radar waves travel in straight lines. How could radar work if the radar waves cannot hit the target, because of the earth's bulge is obstructing a clear path to the target. Radar and Microwave transmitters emit radiation waves that travel in straight lines and cannot work on a globe earth. Excellent history, and a history I've not heard much about. -- It seems the US Navy leadership setup their own catastrophe, by reassigning the capable Admiral Kinkaid to other duties and assigning the inexperience Admiral Wright to command the Task Force with little time to prepare for the coming battle. The Japanese had superior torpedoes and a good Admiral Tanaka who brilliantly used the torpedoes to defeat the American task force. The American torpedoes at that time were undependable and ineffective.

  38. This is a great video about Admiral King, he was an amazing person and had an amazing life. Born in 1880, he became the ultimate Twentieth Century warrior, commanding airplanes, aircraft carriers, naval fleets, the Marines and submarines. Although King had problems at the beginning of the US involvement in WW2, from December 41 to May 42, when German U-Boats were slaughtering the merchant marine ships off the East Coast, he should have taken British advice, but eventually he did and the problems were fixed. King having British ancestry and being an Anglophobe is a curious paradox and amusing too. -- No doubt, Admiral King was a great man and interesting character.
