  1. Brunel was amazing, as the Great Eastern was too. In hindsight it was a financial disaster, but how else could they have laid the trans-Atlantic cables without the Great Eastern? Brunel died way too young, only 53 y.o. Imagine if he had lived another 30 years what he could have done! What a wonderful mind! -- I've nerve been to the Paddington Train Station, but I've seen the pictures of it and it looks fantastic.
