  7. The Luton Airport car park building burnt to the ground with 1500 cars is alleged to be caused by a diesel vehicle, a phenomenon I have never heard of before. Especially the burnt destruction of the non combustible concrete and steel car park building that would require sustained high temperatures for hours to burn. A tank of diesel fuel doesn't burn hot enough or long enough to do that. But lithium battery fires do burn hot enough and long enough. It's amazing, how government and corporate media protect lithium batteries from bad publicity. They are sacred cows, to say anything bad about them is sacrilegious and blasphemous.

Last week I rented a hybrid Jeep Wrangler and drove from Southern California to Tucson Arizona, using Interstate Hwy 8 and 10, temperatures crossing the desert ranged from 105 to 110 Fahrenheit, running the air conditioner the whole way, gas mileage was terrible, I made more fuel stops than I planned for. Hybrids have an ICE engine as well as the EV battery and motor, and they have all the problems an EV's has, plus the maintenance of a ICE engine, it's far more complex than an ICE vehicle. Hybrids don't work well in extreme weather either, it's range was claimed to be about 300 miles, I didn't get any where near that kind of mileage.

EVs require software updates through the Internet, this adds complexity that ICE cars don't have, it adds expense to repair and requires experts to maintain and repair them. EVs are more complex, more expensive to run and maintain, less dependable than ICE vehicles.

If your EV is rear ended it will be total loss, my ice car was rear ended, repaired, driven for 240,000 miles, by then it was worn out and 20 years old. -- The Tesla Model Y battery warranty covers either 8 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first. Once out of warranty will it have anymore software updates? Who knows!
