All electric door mechanisms could be built into combustion vehicles as well, it is not just EVs. This kind of door mechanisms should NOT BE ALLOWED in any vehicles.

The engineers work for their employer and design what they are told to design, this was not their decision they were just doing their jobs. -- This is corporate government failure, by unelected bureaucrats in the NHTSA, who are unaccountable and can't be fired.
