The glass roof is a bad idea, next thing they will do is a put a restaurant up there! To bring Notre Dame back to it's original condition will be nearly impossible. Notre-Dame's roof timbers took 50 years to prepare. They began by cutting down about 1500 trees, about the year 1200 AD. These were laid for a year with the top turned to the North to align them with the energy of the earth. The bark was then removed and they were immersed in a swamp for 25 years to preserve the wood from fungus and insects. Around 1225, the wood was removed from the water and the trunks were sawed into beams and allowed to dry for another 25 years.” That timber roof was about 800 years old. In today's world there is no way to rebuild that roof the way it was!

@BertrandBarraud ~ That was a freakish fire, if Notre Dame were rebuilt as it was, there isn't a chance a natural fire would ever occur there. After all that roof was 800 hundred years old and that fire was mysterious. Notre Dame's fire vaporized the lead roofing into yellow smoke!!! Normally for lead to vaporize it would have to reach boiling point of lead. Melting point of Lead: 621.43 °F (327.4611C) Boiling point of Lead: 3180 °F (1748.89C) Liquid lead heated to beyond its boiling point creates lead vapor, a temperature at which which it changes from a liquid to a gas. See Wikipedia. Wood burns to about 600 degrees Celsius (1,112 degrees Fahrenheit) and Charcoal burns at temperatures exceeding 1,100 degrees Celsius (2,012 degrees Fahrenheit). These temperatures are not hot enough to vaporize Notre Dames lead roof. This is mysterious!
