Allen during the 747 development was heroic, visionary, and made the great Boeing Company even greater, but McNerney's cowardly thinking leadership had no guts, no glory and helped ruin Boeing's innovative culture. -- It's two ways of thinking: Bill Allen's thinking was the world is an expanding pie and we grow. But, James McNerney's thinking was the world is a finite pie, and we must fight for our piece of the pie. -- James McNerney's thinking is and was toxic to growth.
