  1. As a person who has been involved in the architectural design of buildings for many years this should have never happened. Cladding a high-rise residential building with combustible materials is an unforgivable mistake. Just like the Grenfell Tower, the cladding was combustible, and it wasn't Rockwool. It should have never gotten a building permit the way it was built, just like Grenfell Tower. I would hate to the people who designed and approved the exterior cladding of this building!!! And I think they didn't do their jobs and should be held responsible. ~ The old US building codes would have never allowed this kind of construction either. And yet the old codes didn't require fire sprinklers either, they relied on fire resistive construction of floors, walls and roofs. And fire protected exits. The downtowns of our old cities have the best built and most beautiful buildings that are in existence, that were built last 100 + years, long before building sprinklers were ever consider for fire safety.

  2.  @disposabull  ~ Maybe the explosion was planned? And it wasn't an accident. The Port of Beirut in Lebanon stored a good percentage of the countries grain there, it was all lost because of the explosion.
