@theflyingfrog When Russia put missiles in Cuba in the 60s America considered this an existential threat and threatened war . They didn’t care about Cuban sovereignty Ukraine being a member of NATO the Russians consider an existential threat in the same way. Ukraine sovereignty is secondary Ukraine had two choices remain neutral not hard or be in their present situation. They made the wrong choice obviously

The codes were in Moscow According to the memorandum Ukraine could not be a threat to its neighbours . If so the neighbours had a right to protect their national security . Joining NATO was a threat to Russia . Nato has been in Ukraine since 2014 training the Ukraine army and building bases even had war games on the Russian border That is a military alliance If you need any more information let me know
