@jeremywillis7139 The referendums in Crimea and the Donbass reflect the results of previous polls and elections before 2014. The areas are pro Russian historically . In hindsight the 2014 coup / revolution was a very bad idea . Russia isn’t going to allow America on its border anymore than America would allow Russia on “ its “ border Crimea and the regions are now part of Russia permanently whether the west likes it or not Ukraine should have signed the Istanbul agreement

@jeremywillis7139 There were two polls by American backed companies in 2013 before the crisis which showed the people in the east were pro Russian . Also if you check the voting demographics of previous 2014 elections you will plainly see regions in the east voted overwhelmingly for pro Russian candidates

Putin made a big mistake in not protecting democracy as quelling them If Yanakovich was that unpopular he would have got voted out in the election due in a few weeks . How can it be called an invasion when not a shot was fired And they were invited in to the Donbass by the Donbass people after 8 years of shelling by Ukraine The Russians in Ukraine were treated very badly Ukraine in its present form will never be allowed to join EU or Nato by the west . They don’t give a damn about Ukraine or the people All the reasons you gave for the invasion are correct . Why would Russia invade Ukraine without reason . What would they gain ?
