  2. Another common myth is that roaches will survive a nuclear holocaust. Fun fact: Yes, they will, for about two weeks, and then they molt, cellular mitosis happens (radiation being detrimental to this process), and then they're just as doomed as we are. Mitosis is an ongoing thing in humans, but only happens in roaches and other insects when they shed their current exoskeleton in order to continue growing.
