Think about what would happen to the hull, when they lifted it from 4 points, 2 at each ring. You will never have all 4 legs of the chains pulling with the same tension on the 4 individual lifting points on the subs rings. There would be a twist, a torsion placed on the hull. Perhaps this is could have been mitigated by the 45* plys they didnt use. I wonder what this twist would do to the hull. Also i recall when the platform tipped and the sub was semi-attached still. Did the hull have to withstand a twist there?

They arent even small round dots/bumps but long creases!

I was listening to hearings while at work (steelworker) and had to stop for a water break. Couldnt believe how casually old mate from OG described what they did to their hull. He sounded as if he was oblivious to how insane that was.

YEAH ID RATHER MONEY FOT GUNS WEAPONS F35S AND CORPORATE TAX CUTS IT WOULD MAKE JOBS

That someone is David Lochridge. He reported to OSHA and the did nothing. He was interviewed by the hearing and I highly reccomend listening to his testimony

If intelligence is the ability to apply knowledge, id argue stockton is clearly not intelligent since his attempt to apply knowledge failed so abysmally

The guy literally ignored decades of knowledge regarding safe and reliable construction of pressure vessels. Thats the furthest thing from intelligence i can think of

Stockton built a submersable clown car, change my mind

How can you claim it would have worked? A foot of a glue join is a foot for differential expansion and flexure to cause sheering

Ultimately whatever the solution it needs to be tested. I think we can all agree, this whole thing is so insane.

Exactly this. Good refractor telescopes tend to have 3 or more lenses. They could have made the corrective lenses from glass to prevent further significant degredation of color

I downloaded raw data from the hubble telescope, it was mind blowing how beautiful the images are even before processing

I think its important to keep in mind that these 4 lifting points may not have been placed level with each other and the sub. Meaning when you place 4 equal length chains/slings, two of them, on opposing corners will take extra load, and the other two will take less load. Ad to the fact that there is weight out the back of the hull, behind the two lifting points. Weight that the other side doesnt have. So add to the above, that extra tensioned lugg now has even more weight on it as it has to take this extra weight. You can see at 5:18 how the sub isnt picking up level, those two legs on the left have more weight to their right and so the load has swung to center itself under the crane's lifting hook where the slings are probably attached. Given the above, its almost certain to me (boilermaker who uses crane daily) that those rear lugs are taking more than half of the 10t that had to be lifted. One loaded more than others. Btw riggers always assume and calculate for load being distributed on 2 legs of a 4 leg sling, do you think stockton did the calcs this way? Dogman 101
