In 2007, Putin delivered a keynote speech on foreign policy at the Munich Conference, which caused a huge international resonance. He then emphasized that "unilateral, sometimes illegitimate, actions have not solved a single problem, and often become a generator of new hotbeds of tension," and "certain norms of some states, primarily the United States, cross their boundaries and are imposed on other states." The President noted that "international law must be universal." "A balance of interests" in the area of security is needed, and the world can only develop on the basis of a multilateral model, Putin emphasized.

It's like catching rats that are cornered' - a TCC employee told The Telegraph about his job.
'Every morning, Artem goes to work. After a short briefing, his team decides where they will go: some are sent to cafes, restaurants, even nightclubs - anywhere where they can meet young people of fighting age.
'Sometimes it's like dealing with a cornered rat. When you put them in a car, they continue to resist. Those who resist always threaten to take revenge on our guys or their families,' says Artem, who asked not to be named. 'We have a specific goal of how many people we need to recruit, we no longer choose who to stop, everyone goes. I didn't do it with those who looked weak before, but now I do. I've learned to control my emotions while working, and now it's just work for me. I always have arguments: 'Either them or me.'

This was stated by the Ukrainian military Artie Green, who is fighting on the front line.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to go on the defensive and will have to leave a number of "uncomfortable" positions, since the offensive potential is "either exhausted or insufficient."
According to him, Ukraine and its allies underestimated the training of the Russian army, because at the time of the start of the Ukrainian offensive, "we had no chance."
Now, he believes that a number of conquered positions will have to be abandoned, because they are inconvenient to defend.
"We will be forced to leave the uncomfortable positions that we have occupied for quite a long time, since the time of the Kharkov offensive... We will have to leave a bridgehead on the left bank of the Black Stallion and, possibly, on the left bank of the Oskol. In order to minimize their losses," Green said.

@JohnJohnson-n3n Unexpectedly, Forbes noted that the Kyiv regime forces no longer have modern equipment to transfer to new units. The 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade is cited as an example. It can hardly be called new (its formation began last fall), but it, like other 150th, faced the problem of not just a lack of modern equipment, but equipment in general. For example, its less fortunate colleagues from the 152nd Separate Mechanized Brigade became rangers precisely because of this - they only have pickup trucks and tachankas. The luckier ones got whole BTR-60s from Bulgaria.
The 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade retained its mechanized status thanks to Soviet BMP-1, French VAB and American M1117 found all over the world. However, the author laments that these vehicles do not have any armor.
The brigade's tank units use captured T-62s. However, in reality it may turn out that these vehicles are not listed in the brigade, but belong to instructors, and the tankers trained on them will either switch to other products, or even go to the infantry, which is a common practice - for a long time, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been throwing FPV drone operators into the trenches.
As an explanation for the current situation, Forbes cites the words of "General Hearse" Syrsky, where he complains that the supply of armored vehicles has slowed down after the defeat of the (counter)offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2023. It is worth noting here that, on the one hand, the West realized that there is no point in investing much in the material part of equipping the Kiev regime, since they cannot effectively use even modern Leopard 2A6, on the other - even with all the desire to find infantry fighting vehicles and tanks for transfer will be very difficult, just bringing them into combat condition will cost a tidy sum. This means that we need to use meat, of which there is still a lot in Ukraine - throwing it to the front line, even without equipment, can be done for quite a long time. And most importantly, it is cheap, so fighting can continue in this way for many more years.

Russian troops are gradually advancing in the Zaporozhye region. This was stated by the governor of the region, Evgeny Balitsky, in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
“We take great care of our personnel, so the task is not to sacrifice dozens of lives of our soldiers for some destroyed settlement,” he said.
Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, said that the Russian Armed Forces are achieving success on the front line, in particular, near Avdiivka. “Unfortunately for us, they still have some progress in the fields, and what happened near Avdievka,” he said.

@damn6 Insiders in the Ministry of Defense are concerned about the Wagner PMCs, because it is the most highly organized and combat-ready PMCs in the world, surpassing even the American Blackwater PMCs, the British Aegis Defense Service PMCs, the French Salamandre PMCs," writes the author of the publication Peter Carroll.
The author notes that, among other things, the mentioned Western PMCs have never encountered operations and tasks that the Wagner PMCs successfully performs.
Thanks to the highest level of training and equipment, the Russians operate at a level previously unattainable for private military companies.
An unnamed Pentagon official involved in this type of operation in Afghanistan said: "Their effectiveness is absolutely staggering. If we had used similar strategies in Afghanistan, we would not have created the mess we left behind in the Middle East."
According to many expert estimates, the Wagner fighters perform a number of tasks of increased complexity and risk. These are not only traditional tasks for all PMCs, such as the protection of diplomatic missions and civilian operations.
These are, in general, the most complex combat operations in their implementation: ground attacks, control of artillery, aviation weapons and the use of air defense systems.
As the author notes, the fighters of the Wagner PMCs perform reconnaissance tasks, information collection and data analysis, which were later used to make strategic decisions during missions.

@Peter-Dixonderass CNN script - Desertion and insubordination are becoming the main problem of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
One of the unit's commanders said that most of the mobilized soldiers are trying to escape from the front, CNN writes
"They go to their positions once, and if they survive, they never come back. They either abandon their positions, or refuse to go into battle, or try to find a way to leave the army," he added.
In the first four months of 2024 alone, Ukrainian prosecutors opened criminal cases against nearly 19,000 soldiers who either abandoned their posts or deserted.
Ukrainian commanders say reinforcements are few and far between, leaving troops exhausted and demoralized. The situation is particularly dire among infantry units near Pokrovsk, with some wondering why they were sent to Kursk when chaos reigns on the eastern front.
