If I were to use the tape, (probably not) I would use the yellow that is made for gas. Why? It just seems like the right thing, I may be wrong. Yes, go clockwise unless it is left hand threads, and if you watch, he did it correctly. One more thing, I had a pipefitter tell me that the tape really is not a seal, it just makes up for any threads that are not true.

Well as another said that copper fittings that are tapered you shouldn't use tape or the paste. That is also true with machine threads. @MonkeyJedi99

That makes sense to me, but they say not to use it. Also with machine threads. I always had the attitude that it can't hurt. I just wonder if I'm wrong. The yellow stuff for gas I just figure it may do better on an engine, once again I may be wrong. I have even used it on threaded PVC fittings. @milantrcka121
