  1. Try looking at the financial wrack and ruin in the nuclear fission industry up to the present!! In the US, if the government didn't serve as the ultimate backstop for liability purposes [and other governmental subsidies], it would have never got off the ground or been sustained. I'm sure ole Rickover knew he needed a commercial industry, too, just as a smokescreen for his programs.

It's the scientific predecessor of "String Theory Explains the Universe" and Musk's "Failed Self-Driving" toy cars and truck. BTW, did the COAL INDUSTRY and/or NUCLEAR POWER VENDORS finance that report?!
