  1. Aleutian Campaign was the US military's equivalent of the similarly mediocre Wellington Peninsular Campaign. Both won because the real 2nd and 3rd Team was sent there by the IJN/Napoleon because it really didn't make any difference ..., except to the US and British. Sorta like the English obsession with the ONLY World Cup they have EVER WON! BTW, even at the point this was released, I think the scholarship has pretty much demonstrated there was no "Distracting Campaign" aspect in the IJN plans.

  2. And, the FAR more useful purposes the IJA could serve just about ANYWERE ELSE, as well as the FAR more useful purposes the IJN logistics train to support these bases could serve just about ANYWHERE ELSE!
