At some point it is NOT COURAGE, but instead HELPLESSNESS in the face of HARSH NAVAL DISCIPLINE and the general systemic ineptitude of naval commanders wholly out of their depth in a kind of warfare NONE had imagined, much like the trench warfare completely overwhelmed any army's ability to function in a truly competent, professional fashion. The industrialization of DEATH was something I'm sure none of these kinds of almost galley slaves deserved to be faced with.

You just didn't bother listening to the discussion of the perils of the entire situation, BUT especially, YOU HAVE NOT BOTHERED READING even more important discussions of ALL THE INTENTIONS JELLICOE PUT IN WRITING BEFORE THE BATTLE AND WHICH CHURCHILL AND THE OTHER GRANDSTANDERS ALL AGREED WITH!! I'd say YOU have never been in such a situation of incomplete intelligence to make important decisions on, nor have you done any research on the doctrine Jellicoe CLEARLY ISSUED, and which, in the case of Beatty incompetent mishandling of his scouting duties, many of Jellicoe's detractors clearly DISOBEYED. I may not have had battle pressures on me, but USN nuclear propulsion drills as a watch officer have apparently given me a FAR more balanced view of the perils of leadership, which you so cavalierly ignore.
