It collapsed that easily because the DESIGN did not specify 'survive collision with a vessel not on the oceans, yet' OR 'survive the destruction of one pier supporting the main truss structural members. It was a Single Point Failure design for reasons we don't know and may never really be able to 'pull the string' through to the actual people who made those decisions.

  10. Sounds like THE JURY is the people who get to decide if it is 'merely' public speech. The Trump Legal Clown Car is able to imagine almost anything, but that doesn't mean any of their brain 'efflatus' is real or ACTUALLY LEGALLY RELEVANT. I hope to spend next Thanksgiving watching documentaries about Trump going to jail AND his Legal Team, to a member, being sanctioned as brining disgrace to the profession FAR ABOVE AND BEYOND STEALING FROM A CLIENT.

I worked in industry where something like this was required to have a frequency of 10^-6, or less than once in a million years on the combined frequencies of postulated events, in analyses that were updated ROUTINELY when new postulated events or new discoveries in event precursors or even minor changes in facility design were made. You are just justifying this event as an 'accident' for polemical purposes.
