Don't forget that people trusted the Tories rather than the Clown Car that was Labour under Corbyn ..., and then they saw the outright lying of Corbyn over Brexit when he, personally, did wanted to Leave, but would not support his party that did NOT. Look in the mirror for people who were scared and voted for their retirement accounts and the like. Labour has NO RESPONSE but continued muddle and nothing but chaos.

If you had to live in a Greed is Good culture, compounded by ethnic and religious strife, maybe you, too, would be a little more self-centered on your own survival at the expense of other, far more extraneous knowledge? America didn't get stupid, some of it just never advanced because it didn't have to, with some of that time and effort being spent on even more complicated need for basic survival. OTOH, a lot of it did advance, relatively. Enough to support a fairly thriving economy? I've got decades of practical experience, living for extended periods in locations up and down the Eastern Seaboard. What's your personal experience?
