US loves blue collar, high school-only teenagers from the Fly Over Regions (e.g., West Virginia and Appalachia) because they are full of testosterone (the males), have no real economic prospects, and can be motivated with stupid ideas that do not cost anything except for the need of a 'sales force' being able to infect them. With only 144 million total in population, and that tending to the older age groups, lessening ability to throw rubles at the problem, and a 'mysterious' continuing need for more and more new meatbags, Russia is truly losing the recruiting war, too.
