HISTORY in a referenced, footnoted BOOK with a further bibliography is FAR more interesting and REAL than comic book pseudo-history in a movie. I watch movies for ENTERTAINMENT. I watch the RIGHT YouTube channels for history, science, tech, not movies.
But, awards like this are given by MOVIE PEOPLE, not historians; the key is does it meet their preconceived INDUSTRY-BIASED mind wank ..., AND the influence of the $$$$ people who promote and market movies.
I don't need HEROES invented by a bunch of second-rate scriptwriters, and that's ALL of the pseudo-history writers, I'll chose the people I admire from the facts and RESULTS they drove to completion. You can't and don't get THAT in a movie.
I admire JFK for his ideals, not the way he was a military failure who got canned from Washington DC for his affairs with the wrong wives and sent to the Pacific to die in combat, but who survived and made a hero because his DADDY pulled strings. The history to me says he was flawed, but the history ALSO tells me he was a LEADER with the right ideas at the right time, in spite of those flaws!
That's Reality.
But, things like THAT will NEVER be put into a movie, cuz profits and $$$$ to make the film in the first place, and bad writing and biased directing.
Movies are mostly propaganda for whatever the director BELIEVES, and I'm not wasting time and money on that when I can get a reviewed and vetted real history in print or on YouTube (for example).
