If China does not have an actual doctrine for using this unit, there will be real issues with proper escorts, logistics support, and deployment schedules, and that's just the ship and not the airgroup. The airgroup ALSO needs to mesh with the capabilities of the escorts for even mere self-defense, not to mention the SSN that will be trailing this thing everywhere. The pace of US operations require almost a 2 working up to 1 deployed rotation, which merely 3 units, with obvious different capabilities in the mix, will be an issue. They will have to hope the war doesn't break out while the wrong carrier is on duty (i.e., not in pieces in the shipyard) and the wrong airwing is deployed somewhere else.

I don't think they have any real option but to say 'Yes', with an angry Xi-Pooh surveilling their every action and utterance?!

Are you talking about Apple threatening China, because I'd imagine China both is not meeting Apple's idea of a 'friendly' place to manufacture, while China similarly isn't a market to shrug off? The issue can be gamed from 180 degrees out from initial perceptions, regardless of which view you prefer. In China, The State IS the Economy in the eyes of The State and regardless of the Reality.

As Mao said, "The Rich and Powerful get Richer and more Powerful, the Poor Die!" Or, something like that.

Amazing what being a GOVERNMENT-SPONSORED OPIUM DRUG DEALER ECONOMY will do for your climb up the 'profitability' ladder.
4
Why? Are you somehow asserting the project management requirements of that ship was in ANY way comparable to this project?

If the war does not involve the control of deep-water seas, then doctrines based on deep-water experience will be of less use. Perhaps China does not plan to carry hostilities short of outright war into deep-water, for example. You know, they might be planning on brown water operations where deep-water units like submarines are at a disadvantage and where land-based aviation will supplement carrier operations (can you say Battle of Midway).

You REALLY need to use APPROPRIATE stock footage and not just willy-nilly tape stuff together. The video is almost useless because, if you know anything, you realize you cannot take anything you see as anything but comicbook eye-candy. Really disappointing.

It may be done for now, and we may have reached Peak China, but Shanghai will be back.
2
Probably China doesn't intend to deploy out of region, so no long endurance steaming is required? How did the US operate using conventional carriers up until lately?

The definition of 'failure' is objective and subjective, in the end. Some cracks are 'indications' to be tracked, others COULD be failure. However, unless you have an evaluation by independent technical experts with owners' cooperation, you can't cry 'failure' of an entire structure on mere quantity. A Quality evaluation is needed. Worked in Quality Assurance in nuclear projects, and it's not a simple process in a lot of cases.

But, China has the plans just like 'they' have.

Yeah, they'll "be home in time for Christmas", just like in all those other wars! Unless you borrowed some of Trumps documents for review, you have NO CONCRETE FACTS to base your reasoning from.
1
Yeah, they feed candidates a lot of Bull to get them to volunteer for those sewer pipes. BTW, what's the actual number of combat ready subs the USN can deploy, because I've heard reports from industry reports and newsletters that 50% welded to the pier because of spare parts and other maintenance problems that affect not only readiness but also Sub Safe, so much that Congress and Senators have questioned why the US needs to build new subs when it can't keep the ones it has manned or maintained to a reasonable percentage.

China need 100 times more of these cars on the road!! Taiwan need not worry from that point on.

This is what happens when the Customee thinks they are the CUSTOMER. But, of course, the CCP hardly prepares the members of its sheltered workshop for that little bit of Reality in the Capitalist World.
1
"... who needs an enemy." Good thing the CCP is more worried about playing 'Invade Taiwan' and 'Look'it Our New Boats!" than protecting the citizens who CREATE the wealth to buy those chest-thumping TOYS for the generals and admirals.

I don't think there was a 'choice', like a beauty pagent, it was a question of which goon beat his way to the top over the bodies of his opponents.
1
Sounds like normal 'Murican Construction Company Practices, especially if the rate/pace of building was as high as China's has been.

Just another Workers' Paradise ..., where Worker is defined ONLY as Professional CCP Lackey and the CCP Hierarchy ... Well done to the UK, Royals and Parliament, in particular. Greatest employer of the Spine-Challenged in the country!

Everybody get a grip. And, USN ships never burn at the pier or have to be towed back to port, even recently. How many nuke carriers burned? How many conventional carriers burned? What was the USS Forrestal's nickname? How long for the Jerry Ford carrier NOT to be ready for sea or service ON TIME?! ISTR a friend telling me, on the DAY of the incident, there was a USN nuclear cruiser that went DIW, and when asked it's capabilities on bridge to bridge, the carrier was informed "We float."
1
Once again, sad for the workers that the gummint works against them in the name of gummint interests. Wasn't this supposed to be a Workers' Paradise ..., aside from the Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution, and other mass repressions and murders of the governed in the interests of the governing?!

You mean it hazards The World like US -made, high quality DDT, leaded gas, and Freon did, and can again? Just where does your funding come from, because I see more and more hyperbole with no corroboration in ANY other news feed ..., and I have quite a few I follow ...

Sounds like the bastion Egypt and Myanmar have built to keep the Important People (i.e., those with guns and 'lawyers') protected from the people who are actually creating the wealth of the country.
