AND, when there were accommodations arranged in the past to deal with issues, with bipartisan support, it was the renegade, unelected John Wayne Wannabes in the GOP who scuttled those plans and legislation just to pump up their voter recognition for future elections. The McCain era had several plans, all scuttled by loud-mouths looking to get elected next time around.
