My question to anyone trying to understand why a "Fearless Leader" like Putin would assert this is, "Do you want people who hate you because you treated them like animals-to-the-slaughter-house, who you trained to be in an army and fight, and who now have practical experience in surviving, do you want them back in your country as a smouldering pile of explosives?"
