Now you're dragging Biology and Organic Chemistry into the discussion, and NOTHING good can come of that!

Soooo, on the Feynman diagrams, what causes the electron to emit a photon, and why not both electrons emit a photon, or the other electron emits the photon?! Sounds like a lot of 'consciousness' imputed to them?

@narfwhals7843 Thanks, a simple answer that really clears things up! Reminds me of nuke 101 that explains crossections as a kind of 'area' then nuke reactor theory says, "It's a probability with units of length^2"! One simple explanation and a simple "That's just the way the math works." Or, reactor shielding where the entire class is just a tour of mathematical tricks to solve a semi-intractable analytical math setup. Takes a lot to beat the quest for 'physical understanding' out of a mech engineer when they jump the interdisciplinary wall into the nuke path!

@umbraemilitos All I remember is the 'text explanation' for finding the value for 'the thing' in the days BEFORE symbolic notation for algebra (I'd post a link, but it's either so easy it's 'left to the reader' or too hard and I'll forget my train of thought looking for it). 'The Thing', for example, is just the text explanation for 'x'. Learn the math, do the process, then go back and explain.
