functions are the "new standard" for 2019+ so you will still see classes around a lot, but new components should be written in function + hooks style

Yep they're hooks. Hooks is the most modern way to write react, so it's a must-learn -- i based the way I wrote components in this video on the 2019+ standard. If you're doing a course with class components etc I would recommend finding a new one as it's out of date (React changes fast!) context is good to know but organizations still use redux more. HOC is still a common pattern especially when it comes to styling. fragments are just a way to group related components (they're used quite often and easy to learn) all good to at least have a base understanding of.
