  8. All Africa has problems . There are currently real wars going on , terrorism and people drowning in the Mediterranean . But people are still fighting to improve their situation and Congo is the same .

  9. Because the Portuguese were not players in the ww2 . They were neutral . Also they changed their policies in their former colonies . By the end of ww2 the fascist new empire USA dictated the rules and succesully or or so much took over all former European colonies : Vietnam , Congo , Iran , etc . A shift of power among white powers . Portuguese colonies were spared from the world war two horrors but woke up to the true nature of colonialism .

I would rather think about the Freanch and the Aemericans because the first are still there and the second came to Congo , Liberia etc . Not that the Portuguese would not be against it . But lets say more powerful imperialists were there on this region .
