Rail workers deserve the right to assert themselves in trying to protect and support their families during times when the Bottom is closer than ever to them. They struck in 1926 and the facts show the improvements in Railroad workers' lives also improved the lives of non-union workers. They work hard in the repair facilities; on the locomotives pulling the boxcar loads to people across the USA. Would any one of the senators care to trade jobs with them? How about if we freeze the wages until their salaries match those of the people keep the Railroads moving? Any volunteers? Didn't think so. Mister president, how about freezing ALL of your income while we are at it?

@patbedford1571 Pat, I worked as a Boilermaker for about 34 years. Stated with Southern Railway. The work was heavy, and dirty. However, times were better by then because of the 1926 strike, which shut down all railroads. Still, more often than not, when (for instance) a contract ran out, and the railroads stalled, often repeatedly, to negotiate a decent contract, until as many as (this happened to the Machinists Union ) three years passed. That threw the workers three years behind the original desired wages, and their families suffered. Bless you and yours and may your Christmas be a wonderful one to remember.

@tomhenry897 The FBI is involved in finding and arresting criminals. A railroad strike by disgruntled workers is not a crime.

@androidphone1901 IF anyone, not having given provocation, is fired at, he or she has the right to fight for their life, especially if they have no way to retreat. It would have to go before a judge and jury, if no precedent were available.

Declare that shooter to be a fugitive, and shoot on sight. Of course, if he crosses the border he will disappear into the masses. Someone else in that home should have been armed, and put that lunatic down. Hmmm. Or was he just another nice undocumented worker? Hmmm.
