  1. The Supreme Court ruled that it's okay for a police officer to lie. BUT! You can go to jail for lying to a cop.

  2. While not inadmissible to convict, a polygraph test can set you free. When you ask for one, also ask that the police officer take one. It should be a law that they must take one when a defendant requests one. If you request one, don't lie about anything. You can't beat it, but if you are honest, it will usually sway a judge, or a jury's decision in your favor. In all situations, be nice.
