  3.  @OFFONE  wall surrounding a gated community is very different from a wall on a border. If anything there is reason to believe that a wall will increase the amount of illegal immigrants. Because right now people come over to the US to work, stay for weeks or a couple months and then return to Mexico, if there is a wall in the way making it more difficult to cross people will instead decide to stay in the USA for much longer periods of time. Because no matter what you do illegal immigrants will always get across the border, but by putting a wall there it just makes it so they are less inclined to do it multiple times and therefore lead to more illegal immigrants in the US.

  4.  @individualwiseman7266  it decreases the amount of illegal border crossings but the problem with that, is that now the people that get across will stay in the USA for longer periods of time, before returning to Mexico instead of making the trip back and forth weekly or monthly due to the increased difficulty which will actually lead to more illegal immigrants in the USA.
