  2. the reason for overtime is not productivity or digitalization. its that they stay until their boss leaves and that being hard-working is measured by the time you spend at work and not by the amount of work you actually do. its like some messed up mind game. the company feels more valued if employees give up their personal lives for them. how much work is getting done is not even important. it is abuse. it can not simply be fixed by laws. laws are overruled by these traditional rules of behavior. they need to get addressed by politicians, but somehow they never are. that is the problem. same goes for korea.
