  1. people commenting on this should realize it is not about where the flag came from, it is what it means now to people. what people associate with it. and that is probably very similar between korea and the rising sun flag and germany and the swastika flag.

  4. in europe we really learn no asian history in school. the only people knowing anything about asian history here are the ones interested in asian countries. it was only half a year ago i randomly read about this flag issue. before that i would have said, oh i guess this is some older version of a japanese flag? but it would not have felt like something war-related to me.

  5. momo, i am from germany and i dont remember anything about asia coming up in school. we almost only learned about european countries.
