@sexygeek8996 do americans not learn how to use a plate or glass without breaking it? do you only have plastic dishes at home that you drop a few times during eating?

@sleepynightowl1550 then just don't drop it or handle it roughly... that is just wow. it's like they stay toddlers all their lives.

@rosered5485 i guess i wouldn't mind eating a sandwich from a plastic plate. but when i cook something, even if it's just pasta, i don't want to feel like i'm camping. honestly, i have never broken anything in my life. it does not happen that easily. and you don't have to buy expensive stuff, most people here get their dishes from ikea. they are relatively cheap and you can replace them easily. perfect for beginners. :D

that was really good. i like that you mentioned the differences within europe! usually i see videos of a british person with this weird fork-technique speaking for the whole of europe and that is very upsetting to see. i remember being looked at in a weird way by (american?) tourists, when in italy i used bread to eat the rest of my pasta sauce after finishing all the pasta. which is a normal thing to do. also licking sauce off your knife/putting your knife into your mouth. is that considered bad manners everywhere or which countries are ok with that? i think i would leave the table if someone did that.

@CFWhitman obviously i did no study on it, but all left-handed people i know, which are a lot, cut things with their left hand. because why wouldnt they.

this reminds me of when i found out on youtube that the british have a different (and very weird) way of knitting. don't know how the americans knit.

its like they cannot aim for their mouth with the "wrong" hand. i wonder what happens if they try. please don't forget to wear safety glasses!

well european left-handed people have their knife in the left and fork in the right hand obviously.

german here, i would never eat pizza with knife and fork. i will cut it in slices if its not cut and eat it with my hands. my parents do as well. they were in italy a lot when they were young and that is how you eat pizza. using knife and fork for pizza or using a spoon for pasta are germanized things and just wrong.
