@nondimensional4977 i don't agree with that. it's not the age, it's the reason why you are drinking that makes you stick with it.

@texaszag8748 no the real issue is your mental health. the genetic predisposition is a factor that comes on top of it and makes it harder/worse for the individual, but can do nothing by itself.

that is interesting. i am german and have never lived in the US. i don't think things in the US will ever change. hospitals are a money-making business there in the first place. in germany everything is regulated and standardized. doctors don't earn a lot of money when working in hospitals. hospitals have much lower costs overall i assume. and they are considered being more of a service provider than anything else.

@emilwandel as an older person you can get this kind of injury from hitting your head on your kitchen cupboard or something really minor. it is very common.

i know nobody using a sodastream. for most people it is not about sparkling or not, it is about tap or not.

this whole video is ridiculous! i dont know which germany you are in, i seem to live in another one. the south is just a different country. in the real germany people dont yell at you, you can wear yoga pants wherever and people crossing streets never pay attention to traffic lights, you just look out for cars. this is all confirming that i would never want to live in the south of germany. must be horrible there with those conservatives freaking out about everything, i am sorry, you dont get to experience real germany. we have more freedom.

@Baccatube79 yeah, i cant believe someone is traveling without making sure to have health insurance. that seems completely absurd to me. its not that expensive.

you are like many youtubers again speaking for the south of germany (bayern, BW). which has a completely different food culture than the rest of germany. in the rest of germany the difference between going to one big store that sells everything and 5 small local stores depends on whether you live in the city or the countryside. people dont care about the quality of food. that is a southern thing. you are closer to austria and italy, where food is super important.

i (german) dont even need to watch this: while in the US private schools might be a better choice for quality education, not so sure though, in germany they are not. if you go to a private school in germany, you will pass everything, because you basically paid for the degree, whether you learn anything or not. so people coming from private schools are not being taken that seriously regarding their skills (this especially goes for universities). but i would go for a private kita/kindergarten as they offer additional languages and more commitment than just babysitting.

german. i think its alright the way it is handled here. i grew up always seeing my parents drink wine or beer or different drinks, but I have never seen them drunk in my life. maybe tipsy, but that's it. when i was in school of course there were enough occasions where people got drunk when partying, that was in the 90s/2000s, but never to the extent i see young people party nowadays. i am in berlin. weekend nights on the subway trains you see a lot. sunday mornings: subway stations are covered in vomit. driving: people I know don't drink at all, if they still want to drive. you probably can have one drink and still be fine, but why risk it. one drink is really not worth it. i personally have never been binge drinking or been that drunk that i did not remember things. alcohol is supposed to be fun and entertaining, but not make you sick. why poison yourself?

half the people i know drink tap water, but nobody would consider it superior. they just admit being too lazy to buy water and carry it home. but if they have the choice they drink bottled water. i do not drink tap water and never would. just think of those old dirty pipes it is going through. disgusting. also it tastes horrible. i am in berlin.

@duudsuufd wrong. they all come from a spring that is clearly stated on the bottle. dont spread this bullshit.

this was super interesting! i wish it was longer and covered even more things!

@MarcelVolker i am pretty sure you know that was not the point she was making with her whole post. so why point this out? to out yourself as an annoying know-it-all that nobody wants to be friends with? is your day that bad that this makes you feel better? think about it.

@sluggo206 the carbon dioxide is the sparkles in the water. same in any sparkling beverage you can buy. it might be released into the atmosphere in case you burp after drinking it. here the canisters are being returned to the stores and refilled before being sold again.

it is typical for this kind of hematoma to develop over a bunch of weeks in her age group. it bleeds very slowly from very small veins that break easily for older people and it takes weeks to accumulate enough blood to cause issues. if it reaches the amount we saw here, it makes sense to operate asap to keep it from causing more severe damage. it is irresponsible of those american doctors to choose money over somebody's health. i am shocked, but not surprised.

the data on people reporting their binge drinking habits? probably the brainwashed american will not admit it, as it's a no-no, while the european is super open and casual about it.

i think your parents were very lucky with the hospital here in germany just putting the absolute minimum onto the bill. there was no ct, mri or anesthesia listed. i have worked in neurosurgery in the past and the bills for privately insured patients here were much much higher. just saying this, so people don't expect pricing like that if they come from other countries.

i (german) find it hard to accept the fact that in the US i have to pay the wages for people when i go to a pub or restaurant. the owners of the place must make a lot of money not having to pay proper salaries to their employees. food and drinks should be cheaper because they could afford it. the new thing i learned in this video is the fact that in some places people get minimum wage and in others they don't. so how do i know as a tourist/visitor when i have to make up for greedy employers or when i give a tip for the actual service i appreciate? i like the german way of tipping more than in other tipping cultures, because there is actually on option to not tip at all, especially as a way to let them know that you are unhappy with the service, although there is some social pressure to always tip at least something. but at the same time, if you forget to tip or don't because you are in a rush, you really don't feel bad about it. but it is such a relief when i am in korea or japan where tipping is not a thing at all. i love that. it is just easier. less to think about, less to be annoyed about.

most people in germany drink mineral water exclusively all their lives. people should stop spreading bs. there is nothing wrong with it. it is not like doing anything excessively. it is normal.

@mvoetmann1 giving people the option to have free support for their mental health issues is one thing.

@texaszag8748 no there is no chicken and egg. alcoholism is a symptom of an underlying problem. a psychological problem. not necessarily a psychiatric one. i dont care what you read somewhere. and i dont benefit from this discourse. lets leave it at this.
