  1. I'm not a fan of snow since getting an icy snowball right in the cakehole aged 8 that cut my chin open. Of course back then we didn't bother with hospitals. Scars were badges of honour. And that was just us girls.

  2. In 1963 my young mum and my grandmother had to walk to hospital to see my grandad before he passed away. The snow was so deep that they were forced to walk on the tops of garden hedges to get to the hospital. It must have been horrendous.
