  1. I've been out of work since 2019 due to caring for my sick mother. I didn't get paid carers for her and had to live off my savings. My savings are now all gone. I've been trying to get back into work for nearly a year. I've had to support myself for all of the training. I've had to sell everything I own such as artwork, guitars, and jewellery, just to live. I've never been so impoverished. The government doesn't want me or anyone else working.

  2. I've just started work with an agency. It has taken 4 months. I've had to drive most days to the office to train, without being reimbursed for transport. I've yet to start being paid. The biggest hold up was getting references and a DBS. It's criminal how long this has taken.

  3. I used to earn £9 and hour in Australia in 1995 doing barwork on Sundays. After 10pm it was time and a half, so £13.50 an hour. I could pay my rent on my flat by just working weekends.
